Getting the verification badge on CMC Community (or any social media for that matter) is a big milestone for your business or other personas. It proves your account is authentic and engaging with the community.
However, all the benefits come with a challenge —it can be hard to get approved.
CoinMarketCap has now made it easier for you but you will have to meet one of the following while having a relevant niche to the platform.
Three main account types can get verified in CMC Community (Refference)
1. Projects (Coins/Tokens/NFTs/etc.)
2. Organizations (Exchanges/Fintech/Gov, etc.)
3. KOLs (Influencers/Media/YouTubers/etc.)
What Are the Requirements for a Blue Verified Badge on your gravity profile?
All verified accounts have one thing in common: complete profiles. Each of them has a concise and punchy CMC bio, a profile photo, an external link (to either their website or link-bio, linking to multiple sites). Complete guidelines can be also found here at CoinMarketCap.
Requirements for public figures may differ from businesses or organizations so let’s dive in.
First, create an account on https://coinmarketcap.com, preferably using an email that is associated with your project or website as you will be validated.
(1) Businesses or equivalent Accounts
CMC looks for reputable brands that are established and have no association with illegal activities. Requirements are constantly changing but only projects which are already listed on CoinMarketCap will qualify for the badge. If your project is not yet listed on CoinMarketCap, kindly apply here.
Don’t use a personal name for the display and/or user name or your application will get rejected.
You must also be able to provide
1. Company registration documents;
2. A photo or valid government ID;
3. Website links to three notable articles mentioning company information.

(2) Public Figures or influencers
Your display name, username, avatar, bio, and posts must reflect you in an authentic and professional manner. It helps when a knowledge panel can be found on a search engine such as Google or Microsoft`s Bing when your name is entered on the search bar!
CoinMarketCap does however require that your social media following is at least in the tens of thousands before getting evaluated although it is not clear whether that’s a combined limit, but don’t fret! Other factors that could help them consider you are media coverage.

You may also wish to include authoritative social profiles such as Facebook, YouTube, etc that are already verified to have better odds. General requests can also be considered for CMC community accounts with 2,000+ following considering most of the above requirements have been satisfied.
What happens after you apply?
Once you’ve filled in the verification application details, you simply wait, CMC Community team will need to review your application. The timeline can vary from a few business days to two weeks. Once verified, you won`t be able to change your display name, username, or other data without a manual review!
Even if you follow all of the tips above, there’s still a chance CoinMarketCap won’t approve your application. Its not the end of the world! Getting the basics right matters, and so does building your brand outside of your immediate social bubble.
You should also know that any infringements to CoinMarketCap guidelines, such as breaching community rules, misleading users, or using bots, CMC reserves the right to remove your badge immediately and even ban your account in extreme situations.
